Feb. 17th, 2004 03:23 pmWent to Twilight's on Friday, carrying a big suitcase of clothing, some foam rubber swords and a shoulder bag full of smaller things. Before I could go to Twilight, I dropped by my parents' to pick up my larp stuff for this Friday's Moonblade LRP event. By the time I was halfway to the bus stop, a ten minute walk, I was wishing I had a car...and a driver's license. I tend to bring too much stuff to LRP events, both when I'm a player and when I NPC. When I'm a player, I pack dry clothing, warm clothing, cooler clothing, Clothing for a spare character, spare clothing for a spare character, and so on. As a monster/Non Player Character, I pack lots of stuff to use in different roles, and some things to spruce up the usually pretty generic NPC outfits. Either way, I tend to carry at least one suitcase, some swords and one big bag, usually with a backpack added for last minute stuff, and a tent if it's a camping event. I'm somewhat proud of being able to carry all this without complaining (much), but it is unpractical, and probably bad for my back as well.
In other news, I went to the Utrecht fabric market on Saturday. I met Goddess at the station, and the three of us went fabric shopping. I only bought six more yards...
Left Twilight at the station, and spent the rest of the weekend at Goddess' place, doing a bit of maille, but mostly talking a lot to Goddess. Watched Moulin Rouge for the first time. It was ok, but it made me cry...I cry easily, and hate myself for it. Also watched Shrek, fourth or fifth time I saw it, still fun to watch. Went home, knitted some more rings on the way home...got some nice comments from an old couple. Old people can be so much more outgoing than some younger people, I guess they are less scared of looking stupid if they say something, or maybe less used to ignoring things that are out of the ordinary. Old people are people too though, and for every sweet old granny that thinks it's wonderful that I make maille, there's a sour old sow whose only joy in life is to complain about today's youth. I can only hope that I will grow old gracefully...
